I'm Vicki Hopkins. I've been the Children's Pastor of Oak Hill Christian Center since 1998.

The purpose of the Children's Ministry (Kids For Christ) is to reach, teach and disciple children for Christ and then to equip them to do the work of the ministry.

We believe the children are the church of "Today" and that they can have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. I truly believe God wants to pour out His Spirit on the children, and my desire is to lead them to the place of receiving all that God has for them.

We have many men, women, teenagers and older kids who are dedicated to the task of ministering to the children.

We minister to children through our Missionettes and Royal Rangers (boys and girls clubs) on Wednesday nights, Nursery, Sunday School classes and Super Church service on Sunday mornings. My goal is that these classes and services are such exciting places that the kids don't want to miss!

At the same time the adults are in the main sanctuary on Sunday mornings we have various Sunday School classes for children ages 3-12, starting at ten o'clock. These classes are taught by teachers who love our kids. They have a passion to share the Word of God to children and want to encourage our kids to open their hearts to allow God to perform exciting miracles in their lives.

Then at 10:45 AM all the children come together for a special worship service just for them. The service includes puppets, skits, worship, preaching, games and other fun activities. These are exciting services which instill a hunger in the hearts of the children for more of God.

Our desire is to teach our children the truth and give them a foundation in God’s Word that will provide a firm footing to weather all the storms of life of today and tomorrow.

Our former General Superintendent Thomas Trask said, "The church of today and of tomorrow rests in the lives of our children. Today's world system knows it can influence society by touching, shaping and molding children. Thus, it is important for the church to reach children with the gospel. The local church must give top priority to children's ministries. We cannot delay our ministry to children."

The children are a top priority and an important part of Oak Hill Christian Center.

The Royal Rangers is a ministry for boys Kindergarten (age 5) through Fifth Grade (age 12). Our goal is to reach, teach and keep boys for Jesus Christ. We accomplish this goal through Bible studies, Bible lessons, teaching boys to pray, teaching boys to feel comfortable praying out loud, teaching about the Baptism in the Holy Spirit and how to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and keep that relationship strong.

We offer a lot of activities that are of interest to boys and keep them interested in the Royal Rangers. Every year we have a Pinewood Derby Race for the boys as well as a Parents' and Grandparents' Race. Our ministry can be a classroom setting or camping out under the stars. We regularly go on camping trips and have lockins with indoor campouts for the younger boys. Some of our camping trips and outings have taken us on cave tours, canoe trips, tour of Ft. Knox and the George S. Patton tank museum, hiking throughout Southern Indiana, Kentucky and Southern Illinois and waking up to a cold brisk morning at a winter campout.

The Royal Ranger program has badges in many different areas of interests. We offer fun, excitement, challenges and teamwork settings to teach leadership and responsibility to the boys. They cook, wash dishes, start fires and work together as a patrol to get things done at our regular meetings and on campouts.

If you want a Christian setting for your son with an opportunity for adventure and excitement come visit us on Wednesday night at Oak Hill Christian Center.
